INTERNATIONAL ONLINE SUMMIT: 12 NOVEMBER 2024

THE NEED FOR A NEW WORLD ORDER BASED ON JUSTICE AND PEACE

Information About Africa Seminars

Mrs. Carol Ann Barnard is the Sole Proprietor of Africa Seminars, a successful South African business enterprise established in 1998. The business deals specifically with the organisation and presentation of Seminars, Conferences, and Summits, which primarily have a considerable and important impact on governmental and international issues that require urgent attention. To name but one example of Africa Seminars’ experience and foresight: Africa Seminars arranged three training seminars on Anti-Corruption in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town to make South Africans aware of the devastating economic consequences that can flow from corruption in the Public and Private sectors of South Africa. The speakers on that occasion included the Honourable Mr. Justice Heath, Attorney-General Tim McNally, SC, Professor Charles Dlamini, SC, and former VC of Zululand University, Professor Karthy Govender, and Mr. Brian Kurz, former National South African President of Associated Chambers of Commerce (ASSOCOM). These Seminars made an important and significant contribution to minimize corrupt activities in South Africa, which could otherwise have resulted in catastrophic consequences for the country. Africa Seminars is confident that this Summit will play an important initiating role in establishing a New World Order based on Justice and Peace in the World.

Introductory remarks re the Summit

The reasons for the challenges facing certain democracies around the world will be highlighted and discussed at this important international online Summit. The Summit requires the attention of senior politicians worldwide, executives of important international organisations, such as, inter alia, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Criminal Court (ICC), Business Executives, Tertiary Institutions and many others. It is imperative for all who are directly or indirectly affected by the failure of democracies around the world to exercise their powers and perform their duties and functions competently and without undue influence or corruption (as expected of a democracy), to voice their concerns and provide input at this Summit. You are respectfully urged and encouraged not to miss this opportunity to attend the Summit and be fully appraised of the current world situation which requires urgent intervention. By attending and expressing your views, you can make a positive contribution in establishing a new world order based on the values of true democracies that, inter alia, dispense fairness and justice to all.

Although organised from South Africa that is currently one of the BRICS nations, it is necessary to record that Africa Seminars and the speakers that will make presentations are totally apolitical and will not promote any views that may be held by the South African Government or any other country or person. The sole purpose of this Summit is to safeguard all concerned and to find the best possible solutions to create a new world order that will be based on fairness, justice and peace for all, irrespective of whether or not the relevant person occupies a position of influence in the world, is rich or poor. It should also be remembered that it was a South African who performed the world’s first heart transplant, a former South African Prime Minister, General Jan Smuts, who wrote the first draft of the preamble to the United Nations (UN) Charter and the only person to sign the Charters of both the League of Nations and the UN, Nelson Mandela, the first democratically elected President of South Africa and arguably the most influential black leader of all time and, on a lighter note, South Africa is the only country in the world who has won the rugby world cup (held every four years) four times and with two successive world cup victories!

Matters that will be addressed at this important Summit, inter alia, include the following:

    1. The need to restructure the UN, including the Security Council, the ICJ and the ICC, with much more power to enable these institutions to immediately intervene to stop conflict, violence, suffering and/or activities that may lead to such conflict, violence, suffering and/or war. No single member of the Security Council should have the power to veto a proposed decision of the Security Council (when all the other members of the Security Council are in favour thereof).
    2. The restructure of the ICJ and the ICC shall, inter alia, involve the appointment, in consultation with the UN, of competent judges and prosecutors who are representative of the international community and the relocation of the ICJ’s seat of power to a country that is internationally recognised for its impartiality. The ICJ to have its judgments and/or orders enforced by the UN. Furthermore, the ICJ shall be required to expeditiously deal with matters that come before it – there is, at present, unacceptable delays in passing judgments and/or issuing orders. The Chief Prosecutor of the ICC to act far more expeditiously to have warrants of arrest issued for the perpetrators of international violations.
    3. The drafting of a truly democratic Constitution, including a Bill of Rights. The provisions of such draft Constitution and Bill of Rights to be included in the Constitutions of all member countries of the UN, subject to any amendment thereof as may be agreed upon between the relevant member country and the UN – to preserve the well established principle relating to the autonomy of countries to regulate their internal affairs in a humane and generally acceptable manner based on justice and peace. There should be negative consequences for countries that refuse or fail to adopt the relevant provisions as part of their country’s Constitution.
    4. The election/appointment of competent Heads of State who are not too old to effectively exercise their powers and perform their duties and functions. The immediate suspension and removal from Office of a Head of State who fails to abide by, or to ensure the implementation of all the provisions of its Constitution, or who is suspected, on a balance of probability, of corruption, any other form of financial irregularity or criminal activity, unacceptable behaviour as Head of State or incompetency.
    5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be addressed to indicate how it can improve transparency in governmental operations and decision-making, how it can hold leaders accountable to their citizens, predicting conflicts, facilitating diplomatic negotiations and provide early warnings to prevent conflict from escalating into war.
    6. Climate Change: Global Climate Crisis and the expected outcomes of the Climate Crisis on the Earth.
    7. The important role that faith based organisations can play in securing peace and justice in the world.
    8. The numerous benefits that will emanate from a world order based on justice and peace.

Objectives of Summit and additional information

  1. The ultimate objective of the Summit is to compile a detailed and well-motivated document listing all the matters that participants feel requires expeditious implementation without undue delay.
The said document will be circulated to all participants and world leaders who are unable to attend, or be represented, at the Summit for urgent steps to be taken to implement the proposals agreed upon at the Summit. The world cannot any longer tolerate the devastating consequences of violence, conflict, suffering and war, such as, what is taking place in the Middle East, Ukraine, Sudan and many other parts of the world. The world needs to urgently create a New World Order where everyone can live in peace and where justice shall prevail.
  2. In addition to written questions recorded during the presentations, all participants will be given a further seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Summit within which to provide Africa Seminars with his/her/their written views re the matters addressed at the Summit for due consideration by the panel of speakers that will address the Summit. A detailed document, with recommendations, will thereafter be prepared for onward submission to the UN for discussion with member countries.
As a participant, you will be provided with a copy of the said recommendations. The Summit thus gives you, as a participant, the opportunity to be part of a process to create a new world order based on justice and peace. Without a doubt, a noble opportunity to secure your name in the history of humankind.
